Welcome to the Arizona Family Health Partnership (AFHP)

Beginning in August, the Arizona Family Health Partnership is celebrating its 40th Anniversary! We are kicking off the celebration with this, the inaugural post of our new blog.

We’ve got a lot of exciting things happening here at AFHP, a few of which are featured below!

  • Website Redesign: If you’ve visited us before, you’ll likely notice that something is different. If you’re new, welcome! We’ve totally updated our website to make it more secure, mobile accessible, and we’ve added this blog!
  • Request for Proposal: Every three years, AFHP puts out a Request for Proposal, or RFP. Applicants throughout the state will be chosen based on their ability to offer quality family planning services under Title X (more on Title X in an upcoming post). Read about the RFP here.
  • Enrollment: Arizona Family Health Partnership was awarded a grant by the U.S. Department of Health Services to partner with Pima County to provide enrollment services in 3 locations. Each site will have a full-time enrollment assistor. The three urban clinics are in the City of Tucson.  Each of these clinics serve areas considered to be “areas of stress,” distinguished by large populations of low-income, low-education, high percentages of substandard or transitory housing, and high crime rates. Pima County hopes to reach 1,350 members of the community.Read moreon the Enrollment Assistance Grant here.
  • Our 40th Anniversary: This year we are celebrating 40 years of building strong Arizona families with an event on December 11, at the downtown Phoenix Sheraton. The event will feature champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and cupcakes, just like a birthday party! We are proud to say our event is being hosted by a long list of notable and accomplished Arizona women. We will be honoring Emily Jenkins and Jane Canby with the William J. Moore Award and Representative KyrstenSinema with the inaugural Women’s Health Champion Award.
