American Academy of Pediatricians: Teens Should Have Emergency Contraception Prescriptions on Hand

In the US, girls under 17 need a prescription in order to purchase emergency contraception at a pharmacy. Because making an doctor appointment for that prescription after needing it is an unnecessary barrier to birth control access, the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) is urging pediatricians to give their teenage patients those prescriptions in advance.
