AFHP Hosts Kickoff Meeting for 2018 Chlamydia Performance Improvement Project
At the beginning of March, AFHP invited our partner agencies for the Chlamydia Performance Improvement Project (PIP) to join us in kicking off the start of the project’s second year. After a successful end to the first year of the project, with many agencies increasing their chlamydia screening rates and a few exceeding their goals, AFHP wanted to keep the ball rolling and get everyone excited for the coming year. The aim of the meeting was to regroup and learn from one another about successes and challenges from the previous year while also having some fun.
The meeting began with an ice breaker about what everyone’s childhood dream was and we all learned something new about each participant. Then there was a presentation about best practices for chlamydia screening from AFHP’s Medical Director, Dr. Sharon Thompson. A few more games were played and each partner was given time to work with people outside of their agency to engage in an informational exchange to learn about how other partners have been successful and how they have tackled the challenges they have faced during the project thus far. Then, each agency regrouped to discuss their plans for the coming year.
The excitement from our partners in this project is encouraging, and this meeting was proof that we will only continue to improve. AFHP’s Program team is looking forward to continuing working with our partner agencies for another year and continuing to do our part to help reduce the spread of chlamydia in Arizona.
